About the client
Gauri Food is a manufacturer of Indian confectionery, the name of which is deeply significant:
— Literally translated, Gauri means «Gold».
— Gauri is the name of two goddesses worshipped in Hinduism. The first, Durga or Shakti Devi, is the goddess of fertility. The second, Sri Radha or Lakshmi Devi, was named for the golden colour of her skin.
— She had a special blessing from the sage Durvasa, according to legend: «I would like to give you a blessing: whatever your hands touch and whatever food you prepare will taste like nectar. Whoever eats what you prepare will gain long life, strength, beauty and glory, and all this will increase every day!»
Task
Design a logo according to the following instructions from the client:
— Show the image of the goddess in the logo. She is a 16-17 years old girl. She is quietly happy, peaceful. She is in love and thinks about her beloved. She is sincere, lively and playful.
— Keep to minimalism, but add hints of oriental style, restrained tones, a hint of naturalness and handicraft.
Solution
The whole meaning and story of Gauri formed the basis of the logo.
We drew an image of the goddess that met the client's expectations and reflected the true legend about her. It has touches of man-made, oriental motifs, but at the same time it fits in with modernity.
The logo has gold color, as the literal translation of «Gauri», and burgundy, as one of the most characteristic colours of India. They complement and support the whole concept.
