About the client
FERM (Framework for Ecosystem Restoration Monitoring) is a global platform developed by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations). It supports countries and organizations in monitoring, planning, and scaling ecosystem restoration efforts worldwide.
Task
To develop a flexible and scalable visual identity for the FERM project that reflects the ideas of ecosystem restoration, collaboration, and the integration of nature and technology. The style needed to work across various formats, including reports, presentations, and digital platforms.
Solution
Just as a mosaic is composed of many individual pieces, ecosystem restoration is the result of collaborative effort.
Visually, the concept is based on square modules that resemble mosaic tiles. Each module represents an ecosystem type: terrestrial, inland waters, coastal & marine and production systems.
The concept is highly scalable: the mosaic fragments can be adapted to various formats — from banners and reports to branded merchandise.
